Siradel Planner

Release Note - version 3.7.1.1

Introduction

This document details new features and other changes contained in this release of Bloonet Planner.

Workflows & Features

Simulations

Release 3.7.1

  • Service feasibility feature: introduced the ability to define a configurable radius (e.g., 5 m or 20 m) around the target client location points to generate service easibility statistics.

  • Simulation Performance improvements:

  • Link analysis (P2P/P2MP) and Access Auto Assignment: computation time reduced by up to 50%, depending on project size and configuration.

  • Prediction coverage and Automatic Cell Selection for Custom technology:
computation time reduced by 20% to 50%, depending on project size and
    configuration.

  • Improved Indoor Layer Simulation Workflow:

  • When running coverage predictions using the Layer or DXF Model option, the
selected DXF layers are now automatically hidden in the Scene Manager once results are displayed. This removes the need for manual hiding and ensures clearer, more user-friendly visualization of simulation results.

  • In the Coverage prediction GUI with Flex Model, the layer selection is now limited to the simulation-relevant DXF layers.
o In the Coverage prediction GUI with Flex Model, the study area is now optional when using the Layer or DXF Model options, as the selected layers already define it.

  • KMZ Export: Large zone simulation results can now be exported in KMZ format and
visualised in Google Earth Pro. Reimport of these exported KMZ files is not yet supported in this version. Important note: The Terrain option has to be deactivated in Google Earth Pro
in Planner 3.7.1.0 and 3.7.1.1 versions.

  • Cell Creation from Template – Site Height Handling : previously, when creating a cell from a template, only the height defined in the cell template was applied. From this version, if the rooftop height condition is not met (i.e., height above ground is considered), the system will check whether the Installation Height option is activated on the selected site:

  • If activated, the installation height value on the site level will be used for the cell height.

  • If not, the height above ground defined in the cell template will be applied.

  • Export action is now available when right-clicking a sub-group of Sites.

Release 3.7.0

  • Above layer - Variable Receiver Height Simulation for Indoor environments: previously, indoor simulations using DXF 3D models were limited to a fixed receiver height. With the new Above Layer feature, it is now possible to run simulations along selected layers (for example, seating areas in a stadium), enabling more accurate and flexible analysis, along with 3D simulation result visualization.

  • 2D View Management for DXF Models: previously, only a 3D scene view was available, making it difficult to manage multi-floor buildings or complex layouts. With the new 2D view option, each DXF model can now be viewed and managed in 2D, enabling easier antenna placement, clearer visualization of simulation results per floor, and improved scenario organization.

  • Support for Special Characters in Cell and UE Names: Cell and UE names now accept special characters (e.g., Japanese characters).

Release 3.6.6

  • Multiple channel configuration in 5G/LTE technology: previously available only in Custom technology, multi-channel configuration is now supported for 5G and LTE networks. Users can define detailed channel information and enable carrier aggregation across adjace channels, allowing for more precise network planning and optimized spectrum usage.

  • Expanded simulation area support: the simulation area size limit has been increased, allowing users to model and analyze significantly larger geographic regions. This enhancement supports more extensive planning scenarios and improves flexibility for large-scale network simulations.

  • Automatic Cell Selection: two new advanced parameters have been introduced to give users more control over site selection:

  • Minimum Coverage Gain Threshold: defines the minimum percentage of coverage contribution required for a candidate site to be considered. For example, a value of 0.01 corresponds to a 1% minimum coverage contribution.

  • Coverage Gain Weight: adjusts the relative importance of coverage gain versus total site cost (including acquisition and equipment costs). A higher value increases the influence of coverage gain in the site selection process, while reducing the weight of cost considerations.

Propagation (Volcano)

Volcano Flex

Release 3.6.6

  • Integrate Volcano 3.10.9.0 : the “inside building interactions” parameter allows to reduce calculation time by filtering some ray interactions. This can be set to ‘Restricted’ or ‘Full’.

  • Full : no ray filtering

  • Restricted : this configuration only applies for outdoor base stations. Some
interactions are not considered in the calculation to drastically reduce the calculation time. This causes a slight loss of precision in received power results as only transmissions (+ diffractions on the edges of outside windows) are authorized inside the DXF building.

Saas

Release 3.6.6

  • In the SaaS configuration setup, set MinimumCoveragePredictionRadiusRatio to 3000. This parameter is not accessible for SaaS users.

Bug Fixes

Release 3.7.1.1

  • Fixed an issue where Cell CSV import failed when cells had the same site coordinates but different names.

  • Fixed an issue where the simulation result palette was modified after GeoTIFF export.

  • Resolved a problem causing the ACS process to stall at 50% between RNS completion and Optimus initiation when a large number of candidate sites were involved in the ACS simulation.

Release 3.7.1

  • Access Auto Assignment : resolved an issue where incorrect P2MP calculation handling could result in wrong cell assignments.

  • Volcano model : the near-area radius used during the masking step, previously fixed at 500 m, can now be configured in the Volcano Model GUI.

  • Automatic Cell Selection: resolved an issue where the “Selected Locations layer” in the ACS result within Scene Manager was greyed out when site names contained only numbers.

  • Resolved an issue where new lines could not be added to the “5G gNodeB Radio_Macro” Radio Equipment Mapping Table.

  • Total Field with Margins metric: additional margins from Coverage Prediction or Project Settings are now included in the calculation.

Release 3.6.6

  • Automatic Cell Planning : parameter "Additional UE Propagation Loss" is now taken into account in ACP simulation.

  • Other minor bug fixes.
