This document details new features and other changes contained in this release of Siradel Planner.

Workflows & Features

Network Data Import Wizard

A major new feature has been introduced to import network data through a guided, step-by-step wizard. Users can now import Sites, Target client locations (connected objects, smart meters for IoT projects, CPE or RN for FWA projects, etc.), and Drive tests (measurement data). The wizard guides users through three stages:

  • File upload: drag & drop or browse to upload CSV files.

  • Parameter mapping: map source parameters from the file to target parameters, with the ability to import a mapping template, set fixed values, and include unused headers as extra parameters.

  • Import: run the import and review a summary report detailing successful and failed imports, processing time, and any warnings.

This feature streamlines and standardizes the ingestion of network data into the project.

Smarter Cell Template Selection on CSV Import

When importing cells with missing parameter values, the system now selects the cell template based on the Equipment and Technology fields in the CSV file, instead of always applying the active cell template. This avoids incorrect configurations when the active template is linked to different radio equipment. If no suitable template matches the equipment and technology, the cell is not imported, and a message at the top of the import summary lists the affected radio equipment.

3D Model KMZ Export Enhancements

The KMZ export for indoor and hybrid simulation results has been improved for usability. These updates apply to simulations run with a DXF 3D data model:

  • A right-click action is now available directly on the simulation result to trigger the KMZ export (Export 3D model to KMZ).

  • The exported file name now includes the model name for easier identification.

  • As in the outdoor 3D simulation result KMZ export, a Clamping mode option is now available, with Relative to ground set as the default.

Improved Coverage Computation Performance

When running coverage computations over a large number of multi-sector sites, collocated cells are now grouped by location to optimize processing, improving performance in these cases. The computation time for Volcano pathloss predictions can be improved by up to 60%, depending on the network and site configuration.

Other Minor Improvements

  • Network Settings Menu Regrouping (GUI): The three Network Settings actions have been consolidated under a single Network settings menu for easier access. The menu now groups the following options:

    • Configure: opens the Network settings configuration wizard.

    • Export: performs the Network settings export.

    • Import: performs the Network settings import.

This change streamlines the interface by bringing all Network Settings controls together in one location.

  • Group Cells by "Candidate for ACP": Cells can now be grouped by the Candidate for ACP property, via Cells > Group By > Candidate for ACP.

  • OSM Map Service Added by Default (SaaS only): In SaaS mode, the OSM map service is now included by default alongside Bing, providing two background map services out of the box. Bing is used as the default background map, with OSM available as a backup.

Bug fixes

  • Fixed an exception that occurred when launching a coverage prediction while the traffic antenna was empty.

  • Fixed a crash that occurred in rare cases at the third step of the ACP simulation when the target client location option was selected.
